Nick joined Hays Allan, one of haysmacintyre’s predecessor firms, in 1998 where he trained and qualified in the Audit department. He moved into the Tax department in 2002 where he qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2003. Nick was promoted to Partner in 2012 and heads up our Business Tax team.

Nick works across a number of sectors including property, owner managed businesses, membership organisations and national governing bodies of sport. Nick has experience on a broad range of business tax advisory matters including providing tax advice on corporate transactions and associated shareholder matters, corporate structuring and group reorganisations, mutual trading, what constitutes trading activities, research and development tax relief (R&D) and employee share schemes.

Nick has a particular specialism in property and is part of the Property team. He is responsible for providing taxation services to many of our largest clients in this sector and has experience in providing tax advice on property transactions, tax efficient structuring of property acquisitions, restructuring and refinancing property companies, capital allowances and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT).

Outside of work, Nick is married with two young children and is interested in most sports. He enjoys playing six aside football regularly and golf occasionally (now he has children!) and is big Arsenal fan.
