haysmacintyre partners and staff sleep out for charity
On Friday 28 November 2014, partners and staff from haysmacintyre, Chartered Accountants and tax advisers, will be taking part in a sponsored sleepout to raise money for the firm’s charity of the year, the Robes Project. Almost a quarter of the firm’s partners will sleep out to support the charity together with staff from a range of departments including audit, tax, marketing and finance.
The Robes Project supports people who are homeless by running a temporary night shelter between November and April of each year across south London which hosts 20 guests each night and about 50 annually. The guests staying at the night shelter have access to respite accommodation, dinner and breakfast, community with fellow guests and volunteers and advice work. The Sleepout event is the biggest fundraising activity for the charity and over the past three years have raised over £200,000, crucial to the continuation of their work.
As part of haysmacintyre’s commitment to CSR, the Robes Project was voted for by staff as the firm’s charity of the year with a view to contributing more to the local community. Over the course of the year haysmacintyre staff will be involved in a number of activities including volunteering at the night shelter, developing the charity’s three year strategy, setting up a mentoring scheme for shelter guests ready to go back into work and fundraising.
