2nd October 2017

We are delighted to announce three new audit partner promotions. Lee Stokes, Tom Wilson and Jessica Powell who work in our charity, not-for-profit, hospitality and partnership groups, have all been promoted to partner as of 1st October.

Lee has worked in the charity and not-for-profit sector for 15 years and has a particular focus on independent schools and faith-based charities. He assists clients on a range of matters, from the recruitment of key financial personnel through to financial due diligence and fraud investigations.

Tom’s clients are drawn primarily from the Professional Institutes and Membership Bodies (PIMBs) sector, including clubs and national trade associations, where his expertise ranges from financial system and internal control reviews through to providing best practice advice on governance matters. He has a specific understanding of national governing bodies of sport and authors the firm’s well-regarded annual NGB benchmarking report and is a regular industry speaker on emerging sector trends and developments. Tom has been appointed partner having worked his way through the ranks since joining haysmacintyre as a trainee in 2008.

Jessica advises clients in the hospitality sector and partnerships groups and has had particular responsibility for growing the firm’s professional services client base.  She supports her clients in a number of ways, from helping them navigate the full breadth of compliance matters through to advising on matters such as due diligence and management accounts.

Commenting on the promotions, Managing Partner, Ian Cliffe, said:

“We are delighted to reward Lee, Tom and Jess’s hard work and excellent client service with these promotions. They have all successfully developed their client portfolios and played a critical role in developing their respective practices. In addition to the recognition of their personal success, the promotions also reflect our continued growth as the firm continues to expand.”

Jessica commented: “Being appointed partner at the firm at which I trained and qualified at is a significant personal achievement and I look forward to the next chapter in my career with the firm.”

Tom added: “The firm has an excellent track record of nurturing talent and encouraging internal progression. Hard work, commitment and ambition are recognised and rewarded.”

Lee concluded: “I am delighted to become a partner and I look forward to contributing further to the firm’s fast-growing charity and not-for-profit teams.”

The promotions follow the lateral hires of Trevor D’Sa and James Rolfe to the firm’s tax team in April this year. Trevor joined from SRLV as Private Client Tax Director, and James joined from BDO LLP to take up the role of Senior Business Tax Manager.
