About us

Experience and insights you will value

haysmacintyre is an award winning firm of chartered accountants and tax advisors, with 38 partners and over 350 staff, providing advice to entrepreneurs, fast-growing and owner-managed businesses, charities and not for profit organisations across the UK and internationally.

We help our clients solve problems, grasp opportunities and achieve their goals.

As a top 24 firm in the Accountancy Age's Top 50 + 50 2019 rankings, we are large enough to provide a wide range of services, yet small enough to offer a personal, responsive approach.

All our services are provided by specialist teams with an in-depth knowledge of their sector. This means each client benefits from the support of someone who understands their challenges and can give them accurate, appropriate advice. We spend time getting to know our clients well so we can tailor our services to meet their needs.

Over the years we have built strong, close and enduring relationships with our clients and they value us as trusted advisors.

Our highlights

haysmacintyre was formed in 2001 when two long established London firms – Hays Allan and MacIntyre & Co – merged. Since then, we have grown rapidly in reputation and size and now have 38 partners, over 300 staff and a turnover in excess of £28.8m, with our expansion requiring a move to new premises in the City of London in 2018.

As of 1 April 2019, haysmacintyre converted to a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) – a further exciting step in our evolution as a top 25 accountancy firm.

Amongst our accolades and awards, in 2014 we were named Mid-Tier Firm of the Year at The British Accountancy Awards and ‘Audit Team of the Year’ at the same awards in 2017. We are ranked as top 15 auditor to quoted companies by the Advisor Ranking Listing. Our expert charities and not for profit team is one of the largest in the country and we are listed as one of the leading advisors to the top 5,000 charities in the current Charity Financials’ League table.

haysmacintyre cofounded MSI Global Alliance (MSI) with the aim that it would support our clients’ international business operations and growth plans. Now MSI is the seventh largest alliance of its kind in the world, involving over 250 medium sized legal and accounting firms based across more than 100 countries. Being part of MSI allows us to offer our clients expert guidance and support internationally through working with our alliance colleagues. We are a member of the UK trade and investment advisory network.

Environmental Sustainability Policy

As a firm, we recognise that we have a role in protecting the environment in which we operate, as well as the wider global environment. We demonstrate this commitment by using low energy electricity and motion detected light sensors, turning off screens when not in use, using eco-friendly cleaning products, donating or repurposing electrical equipment, encouraging paperless processes wherever possible and implementing robust recycling and waste management processes in our office. We also offer incentives for staff to travel to work and client sites by bicycle or public transport through our cycle to work scheme, office facilities for showering and storage of bikes, and season ticket loans.

Our specific initiatives can be broken down into four main pillars: Carbon, Waste, Water, and Energy and we detail our current activity and future objectives in these categories.

Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme is an important step in ensuring we work with our clients, employees and other stakeholders, to better support our local community and reduce our impact on our environment.  We are committed to operating our business in an ethical manner that is both sensitive and responsible with proper regard to our legal obligations and abiding to relevant directives, regulations and codes of practice.
