    The Government published a consultation document for a statutory residence test in June 2011. The comments received have been considered and a response to the consultation has been published together with draft legislation. The response makes clear that the Government has listened to the comments made and various amendments have been made to the initial proposals. The response document asks for further comment before the legislation is introduced in the 2013 Finance Act.
