Ian joined haysmacintyre as a partner in January 2011 and specialises in advising corporate clients, with a particular emphasis on owner managed and entrepreneurial businesses.

After 24 years at a Group A firm, 12 of which as a partner, Ian then worked as an interim director of finance at a large family owned property group before joining haysmacintyre. His time away from the accounting profession gave invaluable exposure to being “on the other side of the fence” which he has brought back with him to the profession to assist his clients.

experience
Ian’s experience is wide ranging, extending from the SME sector to AIM companies through to companies listed in the FTSE 250. He has particular experience in the property and retail sectors and in assisting clients with their technical accounting issues, whether under UK GAAP or IFRS. Apart from being an FCA, Ian is also a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) and combines advice on the commercial and accounting issues with their tax implications. He strongly believes in providing advice that is practical and pragmatic which compliments the wider business drivers and working in “partnership” with clients.

interests
Out of work, Ian is a keen viewer of rugby union and supporter of Saracens. He also plays tennis and enjoys photography, walking, attending air shows and watching F1 racing.
