haysmacintyre is pleased to announce Graham Elliott, tax partner, has won the award for Tax Writer of the Year at the Taxation Awards 2011.
The Awards, which took place last night, Thursday 26 May, at London's Park Lane Hilton hotel, was well attended by practitioners and suppliers within the tax profession. This year's prizes were presented by celebrity host, Natasha Kaplinsky, at the lavish black-tie ceremony.
The Taxation Awards were launched in 2001 and have since become the gold standard by which excellence in the tax sector is recognised. The Awards are growing to become a major annual event on the industry’s calendar and prizes are much sought-after by UK tax professionals, whether they work for multinational companies or practise as independent advisers.
Commenting on the win, Graham Elliott said, "I am very honoured to follow in the path of several luminaries who have won this prestigious award. As no acceptance speeches were allowed on the night, I want to take this opportunity to thank all my publishers for giving me the platform to write, to haysmacintyre for its continuing encouragement, and, above all, my clients, without whose issues and inspiration, the ideas expressed in my writing would not have come about".
Graham recieved further accolade from Natasha Kaplinsky as “the man who makes VAT interesting".
