I recently returned from my third visit to the Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin.
Whilst a wide variety of interesting issues were discussed, the topic that seemed to dominate almost every conversation was hotel financing. The banks were well represented at the conference and the majority of facilities remain loans lasting five-six years. In view of the continuing economic uncertainty, finance will no doubt remain a hot topic. For this reason we are pulling together a senior management seminar for September in conjunction with one of the leading banks which specialises in loans to the sector up to £15m. Our focus will be on helping hotels to prepare the relevant financial analyses and projections to support robust business plans that will pass the scrutiny of banks and other lenders.
