Whilst the team at Amanda Wakeley will be busy putting the finishing touches to their London Fashion Week show taking place this afternoon, we have been busy planning the event we are hosting with Amanda Wakeley OBE next week, 3 March 2011.
We are incredibly excited that Amanda will be presenting to a selection of our clients and contacts, talking about her 20 plus years of experience in the fashion industry, defining her brand and showcasing her latest collection. We have lined up a team of volunteers to model Amanda’s beautiful pieces as she talks about the collection and her passion to dress real women.
A leading example of UK’s entrepreneurial talent in one of our largest and most successful industries, Amanda has developed an international reputation for designing stylish, supremely luxurious, womenswear and accessories.
In April 2009, she completed the buy-back of her business, saving over 50 jobs across the UK. It is fantastic to see her designs grace the scene at London Fashion Week, following her successful return in September 2010.
Over the years, Amanda has dressed stars such as; Scarlett Johansson, Demi Moore, Kate Beckinsale, Dita Von Teese, Charlize Theron, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mischa Barton, Jennifer Lopez, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet. She has also had the honour to dress many members of Royal families, most notably the late Princess of Wales and Queen Rania of Jordan.
Her inspiration for Spring/Summer 2011 is loosely taken from tribal ceremonial dress: the saturation of colour, the hollow cast beads accenting the spine and the skeletal seaming that sculpts the body. This is sure to result in our guests enjoying a delectable mixture of rich colours, draping fabrics and strong accessories.
We will certainly be in for a treat and a very special evening as we enjoy the charming company of Amanda Wakeley.
