audit & assurance

experienced and technically excellent auditors with the latest technology providing a personal and cost effective service

As a mid-tier firm of accountants and tax advisers, a significant part of our business is delivering cost-effective and added value audit services for clients.

Our audit clients range from listed companies to small but growing private companies. Our not for profit team provides audit services to over 550 not for profit organisations.

haysmacintyre’s audit services are appreciated by clients because we have:

hands on experienced partners
Whilst our audit teams are efficient and thorough, the partners do take an active role in managing the process and in talking through possibly improvements and ideas with clients. Our partners are always available for discussions relating to the audit process and any other financial, accounting and management issues. Clients find this external sounding board a valuable source of advice and best practice.

regular and close contact
We maintain regular contact with our clients throughout the year – which helps with advanced planning of the audit and also provides a valuable source of ongoing support and advice to the directors and finance teams of our clients. Quarterly meetings are included in our audit fee and additional meetings and support can be easily arranged – and we don’t always charge for ad-hoc and additional support and advice. Most clients feel sufficiently close to their partners and audit teams to be able to pick up the phone (or drop us an email) on both critical and minor matters throughout the year.

continuity of staff
The firm enjoys a particularly high retention rate amongst its staff which means that often clients work with the same staff over a number of years. The greater familiarity means that client’s preferences are accommodated, there is a shorter learning curve and clients enjoy the benefit of the same advisers – which is particularly useful in the taxation area.

flexible service
We recognise that clients are different and that the way they wish to work with us may vary so we do not impose inflexible working practices on them. Some clients adopt a ‘pick and mix’ approach and use haysmacintyre alongside other advisers. We remain sensitive of the particular needs of organisations and their senior executives and do all we can to remain flexible and responsive and to forge strong and close working relationships - whether clients prefer a ‘single point of contact’ or a ‘speak direct to the specialist’ approach.
